Sometimes it takes a while to get it right--they just don't seem to understand! As far as your embroidery, I think Bonnie has the right idea. Try your fabrics around the embroidery to see if it helps, but I think blue or green would probably show well. You can go with a slightly darker color than your fabrics and I think it will look good.
