Don't let the difficulties of the present moments overshadow the reality of God's promises. God's promises still stand. And God's promises are stronger than our failures.

I Meant To Do My Work Today

I meant to do my work today,
But a brown bird sang in the apple tree,
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me.

And the wind went sighing over the land,
Tossing the grasses to and fro,
And a rainbow held out its shining hand--
So what could I do but laugh and go?

What a lovely little poem! Gonna save this one and post it on my wall! What else could I do?!

When I was a student teacher I had my second graders act this out. They loved it. Thanks for the sweet memory. I can so relate. :-)

How true. Work will always be there when there aren't such wonderful distractions. We all need reminded.

I had to memorize that one in school. I haven't thought of it for ages. Thanks for bringing back some good memories.

Oh, thank you! Thank you for this poem! I ran across it for the first time nearly a year ago and then lost track of where I thought I'd saved it . . . so I was glad to see it here!
Thanks again! I really enjoy your blog.
