I love working with wool. It's so soft and needles so easily that I almost don't know I'm sewing. This Potted Geranium pillow was a kit from Primitive Gatherings. Their colors are rich and deep and I love everything I've gotten from them.
I finished this last night and just wanted to hold it in my lap and feel of it. Don't the clay pots look real? The colors.... Each of the geranium petals is separate and is three dimensional. They have a French knot in the middle and then one stitch on each side to make them look like a flower with four parts. I originally thought it would be a wallhanging but they showed it as a pillow and in the end I went with that. I've pretty much run out of walls, but not chairs. :)

What a beautiful pillow! Love the effect of the wool for texture and color. The 3-D flowers are a great focal. No wonder you just want to hold it, it is just delightful.
It's gorgeous, Marlene! I so admire your beautiful needlework!

Beautiful wool, and beautiful stitching!
It all looks real - now I'm ready for spring and a trip to the nursery for some geraniums.
Oh my goodness this is beautiful!! Can you please share the name of the pattern ... the black background makes everything stand out so wonderfully. I too would have to just hold it .... no wall for this flower!
Your handwork is beautiful as always, Marlene. Love seeing your wool projects.
I bought a book with wool embroidery...where do you find the wool?
If you need a wall, I might find one at my house to hang something on...

OK that is just pure cuteness! I really need to dig out my embroidery stuff and get going!
Oh my goodness! Does that pillow scream spring or what? Love your handiwork as always.
Pillows are a great idea. I am like you, no wall space.
The wool that was used for the pots does make them look real.
You did a great job.
