I wasn't always this way and I'm not sure how I got to this point. But I really want to be able to do most things for myself. And I like being alone. Now I don't want to be alone all the time but I do want my quiet time. No, that's not right. I NEED my quiet, alone time. Actually I do know how I got to be this way. I turned into my mother. Has that happened to anyone else?
Not only my mom but my grandma too! Tee-mom would sit for hours sewing little dresses.

ReplyDeleteMy mother and I have a lot of the same interests, but I don't want to turn into her. I'm much more accepting of modern so I hope I stay that way.

ReplyDeleteI always used to pride my self that I was like my Mother, as I have gotten older I have become my Father and that makes me sad. She was independant, bold, and he is more a follower, and stood behind Mom. It is funny where life, marriage, kids and all take you.

I love being alone, my mother loved people around all the time. I'll be gone this weekend, then babysitting grandchildren next week for a few days and I've already said when I get home I'll be locking myself in my sewing room. I love people but love time alone.
ReplyDeleteI know all about turning into my mother...God help me!! I also know about needing, craving alone time!! I married a football coach which you well know means lots of alone time. I knew what I was signing up for and always found ways to entertain myself and my 3 children. MY daughter says I taught her some very good lessons for being married to a work-aholic car salesman who has to be driven in order to keep bread on the table. I love your ABC series BTW. I used to have my students do ABC reports on their assigned topic for a report. It was a great way to get them to write more than a few sentences.

ReplyDeleteYes, I definitely turned into my mother quite some time ago. Also, so independent. I lived by myself for 10 years before I got married and loved it. I was sort of shocked when God put this man in my life that I pretty much always wanted around. But I still love to be home alone. :-)
