I was packing up my Christmas fabric (because it was scattered all over my sewing room!) when I ran across a piece I'd forgotten I had. Ever do that? Like every other day or so? I just couldn't put it up yet so I quickly put together a few simple placemats and napkins.
I had an ulterior motive though. My grandson got engaged over the Christmas holiday. I can see the wedding showers coming.....lingerie, kitchen, Christmas! I've gotten a head start - the Christmas shower present is done. :)
I couldn't cut into these cute reindeer so I just used a 12 x 18 piece, machine quilted it and put on binding. Now, wonder what I can make for a lingerie shower.......
Oh, I love these! The napkins and placemats will go with any decor for Christmas - one lucky bride! The reindeer fabric is gorgeous! Sorry, no ideas here for the lingerie shower ~Jeanne
ReplyDeleteI love that reindeer fabric! I "forget" fabric pieces more often than I care to admit.
ReplyDeleteI love that you didn't cut into the reindeer fabric - it's perfect just as it is! This will be a glorious gift for the lucky couple!
ReplyDeleteLove that reindeer fabric!
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me! I have had a similar Christmas print in snowmen for two years now and just have not been able to cut into them either. I will make placemats and napkins!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the upcoming nuptials, The placemats will be a perfect gift! As to forgetting beautiful fabric...isn't that why the stash grows as big as it does?

ReplyDeleteYou goona make undies?? LOL
I love having presents made up ahead of time, and the placemats and napkins look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThese are a great idea but you do realize that it takes all the challenge out of the shower gift giving when you do all of this advanced thinking. Lucky couple.
ReplyDeleteLovely fabric now turned into a lovely gift of hand made bliss. Creative Hearts are Happy Hearts...
ReplyDeleteWonderful gift and adorable reindeer!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric you chose!! What a great idea for a shower gift and way ahead of time too!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Tanya
The fabric is gorgeous! Congratulations on the engagement!
ReplyDeleteCleaver! It will be such a sentimental reminder and that dark color probably won't show the spills. Way too cute!
ReplyDeleteOh what beautiful fabric and I love how you quilted it! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLove the Idea, I am doing something similar with Kitchen towels and hot pads for Bridal Showers given at my church for our ladies families. I am retired and this is a quick and easy project for me - add a scrubbie or sponge and a washcloth and the Bride to be always seem to love them.
