A lot of company called for a lot of Shrimp Gumbo. Have you ever seen a pot this big? Me either! My husband cooked it and it was downright finger-lickin' good. His mama would be proud....it was her recipe.
I have never made gumbo. This looks sooo good, as do the cupcakes in the previous post. This isn't good for me to be reading so early in the morning. I'm hungry already!
My husband grew up in Mississippi and fresh gumbo is readily available in most restaurants along the coast. We make it here, usually after we have been on vacation and bring back delicious gulf shrimp. I love it also, but I must admit that I am REALLY in love with your big heavy pan. :) I am thinking of all the pots of chili, vegetable soup, potato soup, spaghetti sauce and on and on and on that I could make in there.
Having friends over for a soup supper is one of our favorite ways to party. We make two or three different soups, and guests bring the accoutrements. Good stuff. Yours looked yummo too.
You had me at "my husband cooked it"! :-) I love to have a big gathering, but I enjoy it even more afterwards, smiling about the fun we had. I bet you were smiling afterwards too!
Mmmm! My sister makes wonderful gumbo. I've never tried to make it. This looks delicious!
