Don't let the difficulties of the present moments overshadow the reality of God's promises. God's promises still stand. And God's promises are stronger than our failures.

Today is January 1....Sort Of

Every year the first Monday after the 1st I begin a "Let's Clean House" campaign.  I don't just mean, like sweeping and mopping.  I mean sort, organize, get rid of.

Today I got rid of old makeup and similar things in my bathroom.  Now I need suggestions.  What shall I do for my second day?  Hurry....tomorrow is coming!   The pantry...did that last week.  I might could do it a little better but I know there are other things I should tackle first.  Help - what are you doing to start the new year clean and fresh?

hee hee! How about the sewing room? I sorted all my scraps by color the other day, and it made me so happy!! Maybe I'll tackle the old make-up and stuff today. I'll cheat, and follow along a day behind you.

I pick my cleanest room and start there, I make throw or give away boxes and don't second guess myself, i think for a few seconds before I throw it in the box because once it is in I can't take it out. I try and take all things to their proper place or at least at close as possible. That is the reason for starting with the cleanest room. Because the next room is easier having at least one room at a time to put thing in their home. And each room gets easier.

I totally get that . . . because we made some resolutions/goals, but decided to start today instead of the first == clean slate of a week! :)

That is a great idea. I started the New Year clean, the gift DH and I requested was a house cleaning by the daughter who does it for a living.

I'd go with my kitchen cabinets. I have way more things in the dish cabinet and glass cabinet then should be there. And lets not talk about under the sink. That's kinda scary all on it's own.

I'm with you, dear friend. I'm doing much the same - except on a really BIG scale! Come on over to my blog and you will see what is motivating me to really get serious about doing what you're doing. It's long overdue at my house and some of it isn't just the little stuff but it will get done. I love the suggestions everyone else has shared. Maybe a coat or linen closet next?

How about your front hall or linen closets? Whichever one you have not cleaned up recently!

After I removed all the stuff temporarily stored for Christmas in my walk-in closet, I tackled sorting and refolding shirts and sweaters. Next was organizing pants by color, and rearranging the shelves to work better for me. The tub is now ready for goodwill. Next was going through all the prescriptions and vitamins to check on expiration dates. Just some of the fun I had over the weekend. Hugs from Judy C in NC

Hall closet? That is probably less work than the sewing room...

Oh this is fun! I normally do not read on other's blogs but this time is the exception as there are great ideas here. I need/must clean and sort and organize my sewing room. Clutter on every surface is not conducive to being creative! Thank you for the motivation...
