Oh no...It Can't Be!

I sweep my dining room and kitchen every other day. I know, I know...I should do it every day. That is the direct path into my house and we track dirt in something awful. My husband bought a special kind of shoe. He paid a lot of money for them. "The Best Shoes For Tracking In Dirt In The World" should be the advertisement. So I expect to see dirt and trash and lint every time I sweep. But what's that I see down there? Look closely....do you see it? Remember those Fruit Loops that Laney's tongue didn't like? One of them somehow made it to my floor. Last Thursday. Like 9 days ago. How in the world has it hidden itself for 9 days? How embarrassing.

I thought I was good at sweeping. If I'm not good at sweeping are all my beliefs about myself misconceptions? Do I just THINK I'm good at organizing? Do I just THINK I'm a good teacher? Hmmm, this could be a good thing I guess. Maybe I just THINK I've gained 4 pounds.

  1. Marlene, you ARE good at sweeping. One of those fruit loops just got stuck to the bottom of your hubby's shoes, and it just came unstuck!

Have a great weekend, and be blessed!

  2. Okay - he drops green ones. Actually remember it was wet when it attached to something and then came loose, so don't blame yourself LOL! The joys and surprises of being a grandmother.

  4. Ole has those very same kind of shoes, plus I think he walks Daisy through a pile of little rocks before she comes in the house so she can drop them all over. I have the same kind of floors that you do and the best solution I've found is that big wide Swiffer thing that you can put a new cloth on when needed. With a dog and 2 cats and Ole I've got dust bunnies and sand all the time. The big dry Swiffer seems to have a magnet for the hair and does a wonderful job.

  5. I think your husband gets up in the middle of the night to eat fruit loops...the evidence is right there Marlene! ;)

  6. No, not to worry Marlene. I am sure that you are great at sweeping just as you supposed. Those little fruit loop things just appear from nowhere. I know because the other day I found a yellow one under the edge of my kitchen counter. I have swept there many times of late and I know I didn't miss it in haste.
No,no,no you and I are good sweepers and house cleaners....it is just a fruit loop conspiracy.

  8. Fruit loops are illusive little things. I'm sure it's been hiding under the frig waiting to throw you off balance.

    Sneaky critter.

  9. It's probably just been hiding all this time, Marlene:)

You know, I think shoe companies specialize in those shoes that everything sticks to. I just don't understand why the stuff doesn't fall out of them outside on the rough ground, instead of inside on the smooth flooring:(

  10. I'm with Salem Stitcher on this one, it was one of those elusive, sneaky Froot Loops... jumped out from it's hiding place just when you thought it was gone for good. You can't trust'em... nope, you can't!

  11. I loved that last line. Its all an illusion. Our pants are shrinking!

The fruitloop probably was hiding beside a chair leg or under a cabinet and a foot hit it and sent it scooting across the floor. If it was here, I'd say Smokey had found it and was playing with it.

I can't sweep very much without it hurting my back so I have a little stick vacuum. It does a great job. Then I get out the Swifter and mop with that. Just takes a minute.
