John'aLee of The Scrappy Appleyard has posted a request for 8.5" star quilt blocks. Her DD's fiance, Chris, was killed in Afghanistan shortly before he was due to return home. Chris was buried just days before what would have been his and Tory's wedding day. John'aLee would like to make quilts for her daughter Tory, Chris' mom, his two brothers, and his best friend who was in Afghanistan and with Chris when he was shot and killed.

You so right our military does do so so much, it is so kind of you to do sew much to show your support.

I cut out my squares last night and plan to sew them up later after the Scottmeister takes his 3 hr. nap!! I am so broken hearted over Tori's loss...so very sad but unfortunately all too familiar for many families across our great country. God Blees our soldiers!

Oh I have read about this and it is so very sad. I am hoping to join in but am out of town now and having medical tests done next week. This is my hearts desire though to join in on something like this.
