Well, I thought, if you can do that you can surely do one more thing. I didn't need gloves because, honestly, I mostly use the dishwasher. But sometimes I do wash things by hand, like maybe a wine glass...or two. And when I do I like to let them air dry in my drainer. So I made a pretty dish drainer cloth (what a wonderfully creative name) which also doubles as a toaster cover when it's not being drained on!
And since I had a little fabric left I ruffled up my healthy snack jars. Yes they are healthy - walnuts and sunflower seeds. Protein. I think.
Do self ruffled things count in this hop? I feel sure they do. :) I love embroidery and wanted some new pillowcases for a couple of pillows in my bedroom. Thank goodness I finished them just in time!
Can you see my Southern Belle peeking out on both sides of the floral shams? Here's a close up of her.
And a side view so you can see how she looks when I enter the room.
Whew! Who knew I could do so many ruffled things? But I really, really needed to make a baby gift so here's my last ruffle for a while....a sweet little burp pad.
The pattern called for button eyes but I just couldn't bring myself to do that - I remember my babies chewing on their burp pads!
I only had flat lace in my stash so I just ruffled it myself!
And my goal is accomplished - I made something ruffled. Or a few somethings. I hope you enjoyed them! Please check out the rest of our bloggers today because you're sure to see some wonderful things:

ReplyDeleteI don't even think I can find one project here that isn't sew darn cute.. Great Job on all of them.
ReplyDeleteI think you just did a beautiful job with all your ruffles. Oh your sweet lady, too sweet.
ReplyDeleteI adore the dish drainer cloth. I just grab some sort of towel. This is much, much prettier. Your sis is going to be thrilled with her rubber gloves. I see the snack covers match the dish drainer cloth/toaster cover. Great job! The pillow cases are adorable. I think we are all salivating over them. And, some parents are going to be thrilled with the burp pad. My daughter's middle name is Alison and her brother thought it was Elephant. So, for some reason she had lots of elephants in her life. Thanks for participating.
ReplyDeleteYou had a ruffling good time by the looks of it! The gloves are my favourite, and I have a friend I could see in those!
ReplyDeleteLove your projects!
ReplyDeleteLove your ruffly gloves...I keep meaning to make some for myself...I'll just have to get out there and do it. Oh, and what a creative cover for your toaster. I see all the ones that "fit" it, but we use our toaster many times throughout the day, and I just couldn't see us using a fitted cover easily, but a draped cover, now why didn't I think of that! Your stitcheries are beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

ReplyDeleteAs always, I did enjoy myself; thank you. The burp cloth is toooo cute for burps!! All your kitchen ruffles were sweet and so ruffley. I love your southern belle pillowcases. I remember my mother-in-law having a set of cases with that full-skirted belle on them; I wonder what happened to them. They are perfect on your bed with the ruffled edge.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it. Who'd have ever thunk of rufflin' rubber gloves. Once you give them to your sister, she's gonna be hooked and you'll be makin' them for her for the rest of your natural lifetime. Wow, truly. Once you started ruffling you didn't quit. Is there anything in your kitchen left to ruffle? Maybe your dishrags?
ReplyDeleteBut your pillowcases really are the ultra best. Who wouldn't love to come and crawl into that bed? I know that I would, and I'm sure that you love it, too, especially since it is all your lovely effort that created the effect. The ruffled belle is really impressive!
