I never know if this cactus is a Thanksgiving one or a Christmas one - and it doesn't either. Sometimes it blooms for Thanksgiving, sometimes for Christmas. I don't care when it blooms - I just care that it blooms. And isn't that exactly how God feels about us?

"Beautiful" is the one word description of this plant.

I gave mine away when I moved last year. They are temperamental.
Mama Bear
Exactly.
I had one that bloomed for the Fourth of July or some such holiday and then died. Your's is beautiful. And right on time for Christmas!
Mine blooms a while and then rest for a spell...Then the beautiful blooms come again...Mine blooms all year.. :)
That is a huge cactus. And so loaded with blooms. Beautiful. I think it likes you. Whatever you are doing, keep it up.
Great little insight (as usual, Marlene). Unfortunately I've been so "bloomin'" busy here that I haven't blogged for a week or more! Hope to rectify this state of affairs this week.
What a wonderful thought!
Oh this is so beautiful but the point you made is so true. Thank you for sharing the plant and your wisdom.
Mine went blooming crazy this year with more flowers that its every had combined. It also bloomed very early, my brother said it is because we had a very dreary fall. Thanks for the little wisdom sharing.
Wow, your cactus is just gorgeous!
