Don't let the difficulties of the present moments overshadow the reality of God's promises. God's promises still stand. And God's promises are stronger than our failures.

From The Diary Of A Seven Year Old

Today I had fleas in my hair.
First my mama washed my hair with a special shampoo.
Then my mama combed my hair with a special comb.
Then my mama put olive oil in my hair.
Then she combed my hair with the special comb again.
Then my mama washed my hair again.
Then my mama combed my hair with that comb again.
Then I took a bath and my grandma washed my hair.
Then my mama dried my hair and combed it with that comb.
Then all the fleas were gone. Tomorrow I can go to school.

My mama said not to tell anyone I had fleas.

That's so funny, lol. I know when my daughter got fleas, I like that better, we all scratched our heads so much just thinking about it.

Marlene, Marlene, this was delightful. Such memories it evoked. Not many escaped this when I was at school. If one kid in class got 'em, we all did. There was even what was called 'The Nit Nurse' in schools (in England in the '50s anyway) whose job it was to suss out these things.

Thanks for the memories!!!
love, Angie, xx

Ugh! Does this bring back memories! My kids got "fleas" from the neighbor children and I felt like one of those monkeys you see on t.v. rummaging through the fur of their offspring. I was obsessed about getting rid of them as fast as possible - man it STILL gives me the heebie geebies just thinking aobut that time!

What a cute letter though
Blessings,
Kymber

Oh yes, I remember those days. My daughter's favorite thing was to share all her hats and combs, etc. with her entire class. She has fleas more than once.

I love things written by children...truth, to the point, and always cute. No matter if it's even about fleas in hair.

You know I see the makings of a children's book there. Short and to the point. I am so glad my sons never had fleas when they were little.

Oh the flea memories that brings back to me. I remember after about the 5th time the fleas came home - I cried out "but I am not a dirty person!!" No one answered, but we never had the nit fleas again. Thank you Lord.
