Don't let the difficulties of the present moments overshadow the reality of God's promises. God's promises still stand. And God's promises are stronger than our failures.

Home Again

Late yesterday afternoon the doctors released Blake to come home!  His fever had been down for 48 hours and the allergic reaction was beginning to get better so of course we were all thrilled.  Coming home they drove through the most horrible thunderstorm ever and it was really scary.  We're always afraid of things we can see but our God carries us through both the seen and the unseen alike.  Blake's illness and the thunderstorm have much in common.  They both came on suddenly, they both seemed overwhelming while he was in the middle of them, but they both passed on and left a great peace that was a welcome relief.  I'm so thankful that I can now picture him at home instead of in that hospital bed.  I'm also thankful beyond words for each of you who said a prayer for him or wished him good thoughts and who carried him in your heart for a few days.  One of God's greatest gifts to me has been the friends I've made in life, both in person and here on this blog.  I thank Him for each of you.

On a sadder note one of our own blog friends, Angie at Can You All Hear Me At The Back, has also gone home from the hospital but her journey was a bit longer.  She is dancing in Heaven now, baking and decorating cakes again, and has thrown away that wheel chair.  She was the most faithful of blog followers and she made me laugh more times than I can say - like a few days ago when she was astounded to discover that Fonzie lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  For some reason Angie always thought Milwaukee was in Idaho. :)  For those of us who are American that is especially funny.  Picturing Fonzie in Idaho....oh my.  I often say I'm geographically challenged and I think Angie would be right there with me!  My prayers are going up for her family and her friends.  She shone so brightly - she will be missed.

I'm really glad to hear that Blake is home in his own bed. Woohoo!!! The power of prayer is amazing!

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Angie - I didn't know her or her blog but I'm sure she was as delightful as you are. May she truly rest in peace.

glad to hear your grandson is home but sorry to hear you lost a friend. Yes Fonzie in Idaho sounds strange :) I lived in Milwaukee for a time when I was 18-19 years old and surely could picture him there!

A sweet and poignant post. I am thankful for Blake's recovery and for God's grand plan, we just need to have faith and know that He is in control, not us; and what a wonderful assurance that brings for us all.

When a teen is down you know they are sick...sew Blake welcome back....and to dearest Angie...our heaven celebrates while those she left behind miss her sweetness. That is what will continue to live in of the hearts she has touched..

I'm so glad to hear about Blake, and I hope he makes a full and complete recovery soon.

I took a quick trip over to the link you provided for Angie's blog. If her writing is any indication at all, she was a delight-full person. I send my sympathies to you and to others who became her blogging friends. I know she will be missed.

So glad Blake is home and on the mend. I am sorry about Angie. I had never read her blog, and am sorry I missed it. What I did read, she had quite a sense of humor. May she rest in peace in God's arms.

God is Good All the Time...and All the Time God is Good! I'm SOOO Thankful and happy to know Blake is better, the storm has passed, and you are smiling once again.
I did not know Angie but she must have been a dear sweet person.
May I ask for your prayers for my Daughter and Grandson James?? She spent the whole day gettign new braces on James and these are not "cute" braces...these are the kind that scream Handicapped!! Brown, Metal, & Leather do not make for a happy 3 yr. old nor a mother who has dealt with more heartache than should be her share. My heart is breaking for the tears I see on her face and the sadness in her voice. She is such a strong Christian and she will deal with this like she has everything else but today was a tough day. She needs lots of prayers. Her name is Mary Ellen.
Blessings
Jane

Blake is such a cutie pie. I am glad that he is home from the hospital and back to school. I hope that all of the rash will soon fade away.

I miss Angie very much. It is amazing to me how close we can become to blog friends we have never met. You are one of them. I value your friendship. You are an example of love and faith and testimony of Jesus Christ. Thank you for being my blog friend. You are dear to me. I just love talking with you and hearing your sweet voice.
Have a good day. Hugs, Lura
